~*~Frequently Asked Questions~*~
1. What is the differences between "linkware", "purchaseware", and "exclusive use"?
Linkware - Generally for personal websites or if because of the terms of use of tubes or photos I'm using to create a webset specify that no profit is to be made by using them. A working link back to my site is still required.
Purchaseware - For commercial websites or those sites wanting to use my graphics to offer on their template website. A working link back to my site is still required.
Exclusive Use - For those who want a one-of-a-kind webset that no one else has. A working link back to my site is still required.
**Please note that even if you purchase a webset, the copyright still belongs to me and a working link back to my site is still required. This not only gives credit, but helps others to be able to visit my site if they like the looks of your website. Purchasing the websets does not mean you are purchasing the graphics - you are purchasing the right to use them. If this site ever closes, the logo must still be in place with something like "site now closed" noted.
2. Why do I have to email you to request some sets instead of downloading a zip file or right-clicking and saving?
Because my site has sets that can be purchased for exclusive use, it will help me to know if the set has been previously requested. If I do not know who else has the set prior to someone requesting it for exclusive use, I can't assure the customer that they are the only one who has it. When someone pays for exclusive use, the set will be removed. Also, I've had requests for some of my sets where it turned out they had an MSN site or a private member only site. This is against my terms. Having an email with the URL the set is to be used on helps me to make sure my sets are being used according to my terms.
However, once a set is no longer available for exclusive use, it can be downloaded to your computer in a zip file. Please note that commercial sites must still purchase the set before downloading.
3. Why am I not allowed to make changes to your graphics or mix and match sets?
Each set is coordinated to work together with that set only. If you attempt to put the buttons from one set like might look like they'd match another set, you'll clearly see they won't once you open it up in your browser. Also, if you change the sizes on the graphics, they'll look distorted. You may use different layouts, but the graphics must be kept together in it's set and the sizes as they were originally created. In addition, when you use one of my sets, how it looks reflects on my work. If you've changed the graphics or mixed sets, not only does it not truly reflect my work, but it makes it look I don't know what I'm doing!
4. Why must I link back to your site, even if I purchase it?
It's common courtesy to let others know where you found the set so that others can visit my site. Have you ever visited a site and liked the graphics but couldn't find where they got them? It's frustrating! It's also not enough just to have the logo or text stating the website where the graphics were found. You must make sure it's a working link as sometimes it's hard to track down the website if the URL domain name is different than the name of the website. Even if you check your links and find the site is down (closed, moved, etc.), you can update your links or take the link off but still leave the graphic or text stating where you got it. Some sites reopen and some just change their page name (which is why it's always good to link back the main page, not the individual page where you found it).
5. Why can't I use your websets on mature or sites of a sexual nature?
Because there are plenty of website graphics artists out there that create sets for such use. Mine are all intended to be used on websites that children may view. I also do not want my name and/or graphics associated with pornographic sites.
6. My website is on MSN (or Yahoo, etc.) or I belong to a private group. Why can't I use your websets?
Simply because I don't want to have to join a group to check out your site to make sure it's acceptable. I'm sure it is, but I don't have time to join groups just to see a website and no one else should either! There are some MSN sites that have used some of my sets from my other site, but I didn't have to join to view the site. So if you ever stumble upon one of my sets there, that's why it's there .. lol
The one exception is EZBoards. I have an account there so as long as I can access your site when I log in, you are welcome to request or purchase a set to use there.
